Can I have a copy of my transcript?
Learning.net does not send transcripts to users. The 8 digit course certification number is available on the Certificate of Completion generated within the course when the course final exam is successfully passed. We recommend you print the certificate for each course passed and use the course certification numbers to complete the DRE forms (California License Renewal forms and instructions are available for download from our site).

You can easily access the Certificates from previously passed courses by entering each course and selecting Certificate of Completion from the Table of Contents.

The fastest way to enter courses is to:
  1. Go to www.learning.net
  2. Enter your User Name and Password
  3. Select Login
  4. Select the My Course Transcript tab from the top menu. This displays all courses you have enrolled in or completed.

How long will it take to complete a course?
Typically, each credit unit is intended to represent one hour of course time. Thus, you should expect that a course worth 3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will take you about 3 hours to complete.
Back to Support Index

How do I get credit? How long does it take?
The last page in each course is a certificate of completion. As soon as you pass the final exam, you will have access to the certificate which contains verification or authorization numbers to report to your governing body.
Although most governing bodies do not require a copy of the entire certificate with your renewal, you should print your certificates and keep them for your records.

Must I take a course in a single session?
No. You may take a break and log out at any time. To continue from where you were, Log In and go to "My Course Transcript" in the left hand menu to see a list of your current courses. How long may I take to complete a course?
Although Learning.net does not place any requirements on how quickly you complete your course work, it is important to remember that some courses may be time sensitive. Your governing body may expire courses when the material becomes outdated. Courses that will expire will warn you to finish the course before the expiration date. You may resume a course at any time.

Click on the course you wish to resume, and you will have a choice of going back to the beginning or continuing from where you left off.

What are Continuing Education Courses, and why do I need to take them?
Professional licenses are granted on a state-by-state basis. Most states require licensees to take refresher courses at regular intervals to ensure that their knowledge remains current. Courses designed to meet these requirements are known as Continuing Education Courses, or CEs. Frequently, the courses will be different from state to state.

I need information on CPE credits.

CCH Incorporated is recognized by NASBA as an interactive provider of online content. This means that the courses meet certain standards that allow the courses to be worth twice the amount of credit normally approved for self-paced, non-interactive courses. However, not all states accept the higher credit awarded by the interactive standard. You should check with your state licensing board to verify that it accepts NASBA interactive credit prior to renewing your license.

There are three types of credit that state boards of accountancy currently accept for self-study CPE courses -- Non-interactive, Quality Assurance Service (QAS) and Interactive (or the new National Registry standards).

When CPE standards were first implemented, all self-study courses were considered non-interactive and until recently, most states only accepted non-interactive credit. Non-interactive CPE is based on half the actual completion time for a course. Average completion time is determined by field-testing.

QAS and Interactive Credit are based on the actual completion time of a course (using 50 minute hours). However, they are NOT related in any way to each other. Interactive credit was implemented around the time computer-based training was becoming more prevalent. Advancements in technology allowed educators to simulate the interaction of a classroom by providing feedback to learners through study questions and evaluative responses (i.e. we could not only tell them if they answered the question correctly, but why their answer was correct or incorrect). It was decided that if a course provided interaction, CPE should be based on the actual completion time of the course rather than half.

QAS is a completely separate program that was implemented by NASBA about four years ago at the request of the Florida Board of Accountancy. The idea was to hold self-study providers to a higher standard by implementing stricter requirements. Stricter requirements include a minimum number of questions per hour of recommend CPE on the final exam. Providers who choose to pursue this higher standard, and are accepted into the QAS program, are allowed to base CPE credit on the actual completion time of the course (using 50-minute hours).

How self-study is evaluated varies from state to state. To determine which states accept interactive credit and which do not, please check with your state board.

Which Real Estate courses should I take for my renewal?
We offer a variety of Real Estate courses and exams on our sites. Simply go to www.learning.net and select the Real Estate link to access the Real Estate Knowledge community. Here you may review the courses in our catalog that are available for purchase (many of which have test only versions).

Salespersons renewing for the first time:
After the issuance of their original license, salespersons renewing for the first time must complete 12 clock hours of CE consisting of DRE-approved three-hour courses in Ethics, Agency, Trust Fund Handling, and Fair Housing. Do not take the 6-hour Survey Course for your first license renewal. This requirement can be met by taking our "Real Estate Salesperson-First Time Renewal Package" accessed from the Real Estate course catalog.

All other Salesperson or Broker renewals must complete 45 clock hours of DRE-approved CE consisting of either:
Option 1: three-hour courses in Ethics, Agency, Trust Fund Handling, and Fair Housing (a total of 12 clock hours); at least 18 additional clock hours of courses approved under the category of "Consumer Protection"; and the remaining 15 clock hours in courses approved in either the "Consumer Service" or "Consumer Protection" categories. This requirement can be met by taking our "Residential Real Estate Transactions I" bundle accessed from the Real Estate course catalog.
Option 2: a 6-hour survey course with equal coverage of Ethics, Agency, Trust Fund Handling, and Fair Housing; at least 18 clock hours of courses approved under the category of "Consumer Protection"; and the remaining 21 clock hours in courses approved in either the "Consumer Service" or "Consumer Protection" categories. This requirement can be met by taking our "Residential Real Estate Transactions II" bundle accessed from the Real Estate course catalog.

I'm getting an AICC error message that won't allow me to continue.
If you registered for the course through your Corporate Learning Center, you will need to access the course through that Learning Center. You will not be able to submit your final exam unless you access the course through your Corporate Learning Center. This allows your company to track and record your CPE credit.
