Individuals are certified as Registered Technologists in the profession of Radiologic Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). To maintain certification, registrants must satisfy Continuing Education (CE) requirements by earning 24 units of CE credits or by passing certain exams every two years. At least 12 of the 24 credits must be from "Category A" activities approved by the ARRT. Category A RT courses on Learning.Net are clearly identified.
Note that some states have additional licensing requirements. This document is for informational purposes only, and is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all requirements necessary to renew your license or certification.
How do I get my credits recorded?
When renewing certification, a CE Summary Form is sent along with the renewal form every other year. Record the information requested on the form and send it in. Individual documentation of completed CE courses should not be sent, but should be retained by the registrant in case of an audit.
You can fill out the form immediately after completing your courses.
Renewal applications should be sent to the ARRT and must be received by or postmarked by midnight of the last day of the license term, typically the last day of the applicant's birthmonth. Current registrants will normally receive a renewal notice from the ARRT the month before their registration expires.
