"Estate Tax Return Preparation Course I - Administrative Issues" provides an introduction to estate tax return preparation. The main goal of the course is to provide an introduction to the Form 706 and the general administrative issues regarding filing the return, tax calculation and avoidance of errors.
Upon completion the student should feel confident in accurately completing the Form 706. Topics covered include: when a Form 706 is required, the due date of the tax return, where to file the return, when the tax must be paid, the signing of the tax return, what documents to attach to the tax return, how to calculate the tax on the Form 706, understanding the alternate valuation date and identifing common errors and audit issues.
