GENERAL INFORMATION
Definitions
- National An individual born in an outlying possession of the United States on or after the date of formal acquisistion of such possession.
- Public Benefit For purposes of the Department of Real Estate "public benefits" means: a real estate license (borker, salesperson, or corporate officer); a mineral, oil and gas broker license; a prepaid rental listing service license; or a payment from the real estate recovery account. This applies to bothh original and renewal license applicants.
What to complete
- Citizens and nationals of the United States who meet all eligibility requirements may receive "public benefits" as defined above and in Section 2718, Title 10, California Code of Regulations. These individuals must fill out Sections I, I and IV of State Public Benefits Statement ((RE 205) to qualify.
- Aliens who meet all eligibility requirement may also receive benefits as defined in Section 2718 and must complete Sections I thorugh IV of State Public Benefits Statement (RE 205).
What to submit
- Completed RE 205 with your original signature. Photocopies and fax copies are not acceptable.
- Supporting document(s). Note: List A and B on RE 205 are the most common acceptable documents. The State Public Benefits (Comprehensive List) (RE 205B) contains a complete list of acceptable documents.
